Easiest Diy Mercury Glass
Christmas is next week and I'm still doing crafts.
Mercury glass decorating is everywhere this year. I've look all over the internet and Pintrest for the easiest tutorial to achieve the look in just a few steps. I finally came up with the easiest tutorial. Gathering your supplies:
- Any clean clear glass
- Looking glass spray paint from Krylon. Although you can find other alternatives at Lowes too.
- Pure acetone, found at beauty supply store.
- Printed Newspaper
1. I made sure the glass was clean. Then I sprayed it according to the direction, two coats may be necessary. Let dry.
2. Once completely dried,I took some newspaper rolled into a ball, opened it . Take and lightly wet the paper with the acetone and then dab against the glass. Pounce it around in a a random pattern until you like the effect. That's it. Now enjoy.

New Soy Scent and New Creations
Creamy Vanilla Mint
This is such a creamy, refreshing mint scent. Not too sweet... not too minty, just the perfect blend.
I've been busy this week restocking the store. I had some time to finish some projects. They both started with a cream color makeover, distressing , then added an antiquing touches.
I love this wood candle stand. I added some berries but you can keep it simple with just a candle.
This vegetable bin has been freshened up and heavily distressed. You'd be surprised how many customers still look for this.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.

Make it A Good Day
I had the chance today to go for a walk at my favorite park. What a beautiful day it is. The weather is perfect and there's still some color left on the trees. Get out and make it a good day !!!
Grubby Corn Cob
We finally had a cool fall weekend here. So I whipped up some scented crow corn cobs that have been
drying for a few months now. Dipped in scented wax and rolled in some spices, they smell oh so spicy.
The cinnamon painted crows where attached with some sweet Annie. They look so cut tucked into a
wooden bowl. Did you have any fall adventures this weekend?

Credenza Make-Over
Finally the weather seems to be changing . I so look forward to cooler weather, falling leaves and all
the fall activities . The store is bursting everything fall. I really like the space saving Credenza. They
are flush against the wall, offer storage space, and usually aren't that big. So when I find them, I buy
them. Here's my last find. Before :

I was going for a "Pottery Barn" look, one that would be very neutral and would go with any
seasonal decoration. Using General Finish milk paint in cream, I painted the base. Then lightly wet
distressed , and then added my DIY glazing mixture, leaving some heavy glaze in the cracks. Waited
overnight to dry completely, then used General Finish Flat top Coat sealer. I love how it turned out,
just in time for some fall decor . Stop by the store and see this and all the other custom collections.

Flower Power Table Makeover
This little flower power table was in much need of a makeover and
some love . I used my chalk mixture to paint the top black . A tan
color was used with the game-board stencil .I decide to add cream
stars for a third color . The legs were painted cream and aged with
black. I love how it turned out. Now it's ready for a new prim
home.
A Customer's New Gameboad
A customer has been mentioning that she would love a gameboard for her room. She gave me this cute cow print that happened to be wood. Although the cow picture was cute, it just was working for her. So I got the idea to surprise her with a gameboard. I used my chalkboard in mustard as a base coat. Stenciled the checker board in Burgundy with stars. I aged it with a black overlay to give a worn look . Hope she loves it.

American Bowl Filler Tutorial
Just in time for 4th of July Holiday !!
Today I'm going to share an easy and affordable tutorial.
So here's your material list:
1. Package of 4 flags, purchased at Walmart
2. Scissors , needle and thread or a sewing machine
3. Muslin material or fabric of your choice for the back of flags
4. Ploy -fill stuffing
Instruction :
1. Take each flag out of the package, carefully take it off the stick
2. Take your muslin or fabric and cut a piece for the back of each flag. Try to cut it about the same size as the flag.

I left the star side open.
4. Turn flag inside out, lightly stuff with ploy-fill .
Hand stick last opening closed.
5. Repeat for the remaining flags.
Optional Step
If your like the natural look of your flags, display them and enjoy.
If you want a primitive look like I did here's an additional step.
6. Take all your pillows, soak them in a big bowl with some brewed tea bags( tea and water). Soak for a few hours. Then remove, ring out excess tea water, let dry.
Place in a bowl of choice and Enjoy !!!

I'm Back
Had to share one of the many beautiful sunsets after a long, hard day at work.
We had a chance to catch a comedy show in a quaint town of Evansville, Indiana. Before the show we grabbed something to eat a German Restaurant . I knew it was going to be a great experience when we walk in and smelled all the amazing food aromas. We enjoyed local craft beer, fried pickle, and a delicious Ruben sandwiches and some laughs. We had such a great time.
Old National Theater
Our time together always seems to go bye so quick. As we packed to come home, Brandon was packing to go back on the road for the next race. As we left for home, we caught a beautiful sunrise.
.
Check Out These Legs
Here's a side table that needed much help. It's a solid piece but I thought I'd try something new.
What a Beautiful Morning for a Walk
I had a chance to take a walk with my daughter and grand-daughter before work today. Along our walk we saw red wing black birds, the frogs and birds were singing. All of nature was happy. Of course we made time to play on the swing and sliding boards. We had such a god time. I'm so glad I live in the country.

Surprise Package Arrived
As many of you know I refinish all the furniture in the store. Always on the look out for new products to enhance the finished quality of my pieces, I've been hearing a lot of good things about General Finishes Milk Paint and their Java gel top coat. Their products are water-based eco-friendly furniture paints and stains cleans up with water, which is a bonus for me. Just happened to picked up a few new furniture pieces yesterday that I intend to use this Milk Paint on. I'll do a follow up post and share the results. It's time to get painting !
Rescue Makeover
This cute little cabinet called out to me as I passed by. I liked the open space, which I envisioned candlelight inside. The two drawers were a bonus.
Before
I first based coated it in black , then used my Chalk Powder in a cream color as a top color. After adding the red stripes, everything got a aged distressed finish which revealed an aged look.
