Lamp Makeover and a Deconstructed Lampshade

Hi friends... here's a makeover I've been wanting to do for a long time. My bad for not taking picture to share with you. I hate when I don't do it, trust me it was a ugly brass base with wood column . I choose it because it has a wood that I could easily distress . 

So here was my process, first I spray the base, harp with oiled rubbed spray paint. Next using my Patti's Paint Powder I mixed up some chalk paint and applied two coats. Once dried I distressed it  and sealed with a flat sealer. I plan to get a Edison light bulb for it. So whata think ?? Cute right?
