Hurricane Irene Candle Safety Tips

As Hurricane Irene approaches, we wanted to provide important candle safety tips. As we all know, batteries only last so long but hand-poured, highly scented candles burn strong! Here are some important tips you should follow at all times for safe candle handling:
  1. Never leave a burning candle unattended. If you must leave the room, blow out the candle.
  2. Keep burning candles away from open windows and drafts.
  3. Always keep your wick(s) trimmed to 1/4" to avoid a large flame.
  4. Keep your candle on a flat surface.
  5. Place a hot plate under your candle. Especially when it is burning toward the bottom of the jar.
  6. Ensure that pets and children cannot reach a burning candle.

If you follow these simple tips you will be able to enjoy our candles safely. We wiest of luck and safety to all enduring the storm!

Welcome to our blog! We will be posting about new projects, decorating tips, our favorite recipes and what's new in the store. We hope you enjoy our new website as much as we do.

Today was a busy day in the candle shop. A new video of the store was created to give our website visitors a virtual tour. We also started production of tea lights and floating candles for A Garden Party Wedding Florist. A Garden Party is a local, full service florist owned and operated by sisters. They offer amazing flowers for every occasion! We are so excited to be supplying our candles for their wedding creations! Here is a picture of the tea lights being hand poured.
