Porch Season

Porch season is just about to kick into full swing. If the kitchen is the heart of a home , the porch is the soul. So much take place on the porch. What makes a great porch? What's Your style?

Is it country, farmhouse, traditional. For me I love a country porch with a swing, potted and hanging plants, a table bench or chairs. having a place to sit and sip some ice tea and have long talks. Here's a few tip to add to create a warm and inviting porch.

1.Rocking Chair
2. Pillows
3. Panels for privacy
4. Area Rug
5. Table & Chairs
6. Plants
7. Lighting, candles or lamp

New Projects

I'm on a roll... working on a new project for the store and an on site  job for a customer. The store project is one of my favorite pieces of furniture, a credenza. They take up  a small foot print of area , storage is always  available and they easy for anyone to move between rooms. Use them in an entry way, bathroom, bedroom or kitchen, its the ultimate non-defined  furniture piece.

Anyway, back to the makeover. Using my Chalk-ology paint powder mixed with antique white cream flat paint as the base, two coats were applied. Sanding, distressing ,sealing with two coats for protection. I decide to darken the top with get stain, just to make th e cream colot po more.
Where would you use this beauty.

First Dresser Makeover of the New Year

It was good to get back to painting this week. This sad little brown dresser was crying for some color. So I did one of my favorite designs , grain-sack, I  never get tried of it. Using my Chalkology Paint Powder and cream flat paint was the base coat . The dresser was taped off, and burgundy paint was applied to create the stripes. After it dried, light distressing and several top coats of sealer were applied . The hardware was cleaned and sprayed in Rubbed Oil Bronze finish.

So whata think, now it's waiting for a new home.
