They are still hand poured with the same high quality ingredients for a strong aroma experience throughout the life of every candle. We created a new design for our lids and labels that replicates primitive jars and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

TV/DVD Primitive Board

We're at it again! We are always trying to come up with new and interesting products for our customers to make their lives easier and their homes more cozy. I know almost everybody has gone to flat screens for their television viewing pleasure but there are some people out there that haven't upgraded (You know who you are, be proud!)

For those who don't have flat screen televisions, we have created a custom board (similar to our stove board) that sits on top of your TV to provide more space to store your DVD player, remotes or your favorite primitive decorations!

Available in any color

Let us know what you think or leave a comment with something custom you would like us to make for you!

Sassy Stitchery

One of our new favorite things to make are what we call "Sassy Stitchery". We make at least half a dozen a week because they are so much fun! They are hand stitched sayings of inspiration or comical wisdom that we enjoy. Each Sassy Stitchery is $12.95 and make wonderful additions to your home or office. They also make great gifts! Here are just a few of the stitcheries you can find throughout the store.

Do you have a saying that you absolutely love? Share it with us in our comments and we will stitch it up!

NEW! Furniture Restorations

It has been a busy week here at a A Whole New Light! We have been creating new handmade items as well as working on some large furniture updates and restorations. Here is a sneak peek of some of the new items finished from this week.

The first piece is this beautiful 1920's Van Sciver Buffet. After giving her some TLC and a fresh coat of paint (It's our new favorite color) and distressing she is ready for a new home. We decided to leave the top it's orginial dark color which provides a wonderful contrast. We absolutely love this piece of furniture it has so many gorgeous details! It can be used for almost anything: Buffet (of course!) Flat screen TV stand, dresser, Entry way piece, you get the idea...

1920's Van Sciver Buffet - $349.00

Beautiful, original hardware

Love those legs!

The next piece was a customer request. We painted and distressed one of our handmade Amish corner hutches to coordinate with her living room decor. We love the color and finish in this piece and hope she does too!

Last but not least, we have a side table that we painted the same color as the Van Sciver Buffet. It would look great in any room!

Side Table - $26.95

Stop on in and be sure to see these beautiful pieces of furniture!

Mudhen Pottery at A Whole New Light

Salem County's 2012 Arts in Bloom was a great success! We had so many new customers come to the store to view the works of local painter Kimberly English and the creative ceramic works of Mudhen Pottery by Janice Chassier. We love handmade creations and having these talented women at our store was a great privilege! Which got us thinking, why not feature local artists' work in the store!?

Janice's ceramics are now available at A Whole New Light! Be sure to stop by to view and purchase one of the many ceramics that are both functional and beautiful. Below are a view examples of her work with a description by the artist.

Hand Crafted Clay Baskets

Clay baskets are good for anything you would use a basket for and more! Each piece is hand crafted from high fire stoneware. It is glazed inside and out for the ease of cleaning.

You can bake in them by lining the basket with parchment paper.

PLEASE NOTE: Most directions say to preheat oven. DO NOT put clay baskets in hot oven. They will be shocked and crack. ALWAYS START IN A COLD OVEN. Enjoy!

Hand Crafted Stoneware Lanterns

Lanterns are great for creating atmosphere and if the electricity goes out! They are high fired stoneware, with either a glazed outer surface, or a primitive decorated surface. All are coated inside and are meant to be used with lantern oil, available at the department store.

Tip: Unscrew the top. Fill with oil. Screw back together. Let the wick absorb the oil. Light. When it is time to blow out, bring the wick down, blow, and bring the wick up again, ready for the next lighting. When you put the globe on, make sure it is in all the 4 prongs. Enjoy!

Tea Light Candles

These little lights with the glass shade hold a tea light candle. They are great to create atmosphere indoor and out. If you use them outdoors, consider a citronella candle. If you would rather, use a battery operated tea light candle. Anyway you light it...instant mood!
